Chicken manure composting is a process of converting chicken manure into nutritious base fertilizer through steps such as proper mixing, ventilation, and humidity control. Here is the general process for chicken manure composting:

  • Collect materials: Collect fresh chicken manure and other organic materials such as straw, grass clippings, discarded plant materials, etc. These additional materials help provide a carbon source and adjust the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of the compost, encouraging better microbial activity.
  • Mixing: Mix chicken manure with other organic materials to ensure a good carbon-to-nitrogen ratio. Generally speaking, the ideal carbon-to-nitrogen ratio is 25:1 to 30:1. Mixing helps distribute nutrients evenly and prevents overly wet or dry conditions.
  • Humidity control: Maintaining proper humidity is crucial for the growth of microorganisms and the fermentation process of compost. The humidity of the compost material should be maintained between 50% and 60%. If it’s too wet, you can add dry ingredients; if it’s too dry, you can add water.
  • Ventilation: Providing good ventilation is key to controlling oxygen supply during composting. Regularly turning compost materials, promotes the entry of oxygen, prevents anaerobic fermentation, and reduces the generation of odor.
  • Temperature control: In the early stages of composting, microbial activity will cause the temperature of the compost pile to increase. High temperatures help kill pathogens and weed seeds and speed up the decomposition of organic matter. Temperatures usually gradually decrease during the composting process.

During the fermentation of compost materials, microorganisms produce heat and organic acids by decomposing organic matter. The particles can be relatively uniform in size and shape, making it easier for farmers to apply fertilizer as needed.   • Firstly, use a crusher to break down potential clumps. This step ensures that chicken manure, after being crushed, can generate a uniform powdered fertilizer. The crusher effectively breaks down the chicken manure, making it easier to process.
  • Next, utilize a rotary drum screener to sift the powdered organic fertilizer. The screening machine retains qualified organic fertilizer powder and sieves out products with inadequate particle sizes. This helps improve the overall quality of the final product. Products with inadequate particle sizes are sent back to the crusher for secondary crushing to ensure they meet the required particle size.
  • Finally, for better storage and convenient transportation, employ a fertilizer packing machine to package the powdered organic fertilizer based on specified requirements.
