Aviary Poultry Cage System for Different Standard

Our aviary system can be customized according to the customer’s breeding scale, site conditions, and local farming standards. We provide tailored poultry farming solutions to help poultry farms achieve efficient and stable egg production.

EU Standard Aviary System

According to European welfare breeding standards, EU standard aviary systems place greater focus on providing sufficient activity space and allowing chickens to express natural behaviors. By optimizing the aviary structure and aviary equipment, we can improve the overall health level and welfare standards of aviary cage laying hens.

In the EU standard aviary system, the floor is usually covered with a layer of bedding. When cleaning, the chickens need to be moved out before manure removal.

American Standard Aviary System

The American standard aviary system follows welfare standards that are largely similar to those in Europe. It also focuses on providing sufficient space for hens to move and express their natural behaviors.

This system allows chickens to move freely within the system, engaging in natural behaviors such as foraging, walking, and scratching, improving the health and egg production.

Key Features of Aviary Systems

Adequate perches are crucial to animal welfare:

They allow chickens to rest naturally and maintain good foot and skeletal health.

A private, dimly lit nesting environment enables hens to lay eggs at ease:

This significantly reduces the number of floor eggs.

Nest boxes with soft padding provide a comfortable laying environment:

For hens, eggs will gently roll onto the collection belts, preventing cracking.

Activity platforms are made of smooth, burr-free alloy:

This protects hens’ skin and feathers, with all weld seams finished smoothly.

High-quality chain feeding systems are adopted:

They enable uniform feed distribution on a large scale.

Hens can move freely and access all areas of the system:

They can engage in natural foraging and scratching behaviours.

The aviary system standards in the United States are the same as those in Europe. But there are distinctions between European and American aviary poultry systems. For instance:

1. Feeding Systems

European Aviary Systems: Typically utilise a chain feeding system.

American Aviary Systems: More frequently employs a pan feeding line.

2. Slightly Different Design Priorities

European Aviary Systems: Place greater emphasis on structural design. The configurations of multi-tier systems, perches, and nest boxes tend to be highly standardised, and the equipment features a high degree of integration.

American Aviary Systems: Place greater emphasis on the birds’ freedom of movement. Large spaces and open-plan structures are more common.

We are also very grateful for your partnership with ABC Machinery. We focus on animal welfare farming solutions.

Main Components of the Aviary System

We provide a full range of aviary equipment to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of your poultry farm.

Manure cleaning system

The manure cleaning system consists of manure scraping machines and slatted floors. First, chicken manure naturally falls through the slatted floors into the collection channel below, preventing direct contact between chickens and excrement. This reduces the risk of bacterial growth and disease transmission. Meanwhile, the manure scraping machine uses a motor to drive the mechanical transmission device, which in turn moves the scrapers. This mechanism conveys the manure accumulated under the slatted floors to the collection point at the end in a centralized manner. The manure scraping machine enables automatic cleaning, significantly reducing manual labor and improving the sanitation of the breeding environment.

Feeding system

The feeding system is divided into a feed line and a water line. The automated feeding system can supply feed and water to chickens at fixed times and in fixed quantities. This not only ensures that the chickens have sufficient feed and water available for consumption but also prevents waste and improves the feed utilization efficiency.

The feed is evenly distributed to all feeding points through the feeding system, allowing the hens to eat at the same time. This reduces competition among the layers and helps maintain stable egg production.

Our drinking system is equipped with nipple drinkers. It provides clean and hygienic water for the hens. The water supply can be adjusted according to the growth stage and egg production needs of the chickens. This ensures that the hens receive enough water at different stages.

Egg collection system

Chickens lay eggs in the egg-turning nests, and the eggs roll freely onto the egg collection conveyors. Finally, all the eggs are concentrated by the egg collection elevators. The top of the framework of each welfare cage unit is also equipped with an activity space for chickens and a manure cleaning system, providing more free space for chickens to move around.

The central egg collection machine can centrally convey all eggs scattered in each chicken house to the central egg warehouse, laying the foundation for subsequent egg grading, cleaning, and packaging processes.

The main framework of aviary cages

The main framework of aviary cages is made of a strong steel structure. It supports the entire aviary system and keeps the equipment stable. The multi-tier design provides different levels for chickens to move, rest, and feed. Chickens can move freely between the platforms, which improves their activity and welfare.

The open structure also allows better ventilation and lighting inside the poultry house. The open structure also improves ventilation and lighting within the chicken coop. The frame of the aviary system is made of galvanized steel, making it sturdy, durable, corrosion-resistant, and suitable for long-term stable use.
