Details of 2000 Poultry Farm Design
To fully ensure the optimal productivity of your poultry farm, we have developed this complete set of poultry house plans for 2000 chickens through multiple scientific experiments and calculations.
House Orientation
The poultry house should face east to west. This avoids direct sunlight and keeps the chickens comfortable.
Overall Size
The total area depends on the number of birds.
In a deep litter system, broilers need 0.09 m² per bird. Laying hens need 0.18 m² per bird.
For example, in poultry house plans for 2000 chickens, 2,000 laying hens need about 370 m².
If you raise 5,000 broilers, the house needs about 465 m².
House Length
There is no fixed limit. The length depends on the number of chickens and your land area.
House Height
BC Machinery suggests the following sizes:
- Eaves height: 1.8–2.1 m
- Center height: 3–3.6 m
For cage systems, the height depends on the cage tiers. You can use 3 tier poultry cage or 4 tier poultry cage.
Quick Specs

House Width
In tropical areas, the width should not exceed 7.6 m. This ensures good ventilation in the middle area.
If the width is over 7.6 m, ventilation becomes poor. Chickens will feel uncomfortable. Their activity space is reduced. Their health and growth rate will be affected. Egg production will also decrease.
For wider houses, you can add ventilation openings in the middle. Our environmental control system can solve this problem. The width can reach 12 m. Stocking density can also increase.
House Foundation
A strong foundation is necessary. This prevents water from entering the house.
A concrete structure is recommended. The depth should be 0.3–0.45 m below ground. The height should be 0.3–0.45 m above ground.
